"We are DPS"

WHAT

From tough union negotiations to a change in leadership, Denver Public Schools was going through an engagement and morale slump. This project aimed to help 15,000 employees reconnect with what brought them to the organization, and inspire them to stay.

HOW

“We are DPS” was a multifaceted, six-week campaign that spoke to the essence of what team members liked about working for DPS. The strategy pulled on Human Resources data, the vision and values, and EVP findings to create a series of touchpoints designed to uplift and motivate employees, regardless of their role or position.

A printed posters series, profiles, videos, social media add-ons, callouts, resources and special-edition newsletters were all part of the multi-pronged approach.

RESULTS

Beyond high engagement, open rates and click-throughs, responses like these showcased the heart of what the campaign was all about:

“When I heard of DPS' core values and mission for a quality education for ALL children, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this movement. I packed up my UHaul trailer and my daughter and drove through the night to begin my career with DPS as a school psychologist. Now, I have the BEST job ever! Every morning I wake up and can't wait to get to my school and be a part of the adventures with students, families, and staff."

“I wanted to become part of the DPS team not only because of the values that we share on this team, but also because of the people. Every single person I have met in DPS exudes the core values of the district, and is happy here! … There is no better feeling than being a part of a team that everyone wants to be a part of!"

“My students change me for the better each and every day! Working with such a high needs population as I have been blessed to work with each day keeps me grounded and hopeful. I am awed each and every day by the courage, the tenacity and the loving and compassionate hearts of my students!”
